Arrival in Siena

Take at good look at this everyone! This is a view from one of our windows that looks over our neighbourhood. We live in one of the most central “contrada” with a three minutes walk to Mikaela and my contemporary University which is great! We are really happy about our great apartment especially now that we have heard all the horror stories from our classmates about their places. The weather is fantastic, actually it is on the edge of being too much for us Vikings J Temperatures such as 32 degrees don’t use to be part of our everyday life – but now they are! However it is a really special feeling waking up to a sunny day knowing that the next day will be as beautiful…I just glanced out through the window of my room and caught the eye of a neighbour – the house on the other side of the ally is really close and he smiled to me. It’s funny what a warm welcome we have received here. Everyone treats us really good and we have made lots of new friends. Right now I spend most of the time with my roomies and other ERASMUS-students but eventually I hope to engage in Italians as well. By the way none of my classmates speak English since most of them originally come from Eastern Europe or France! It’s crazy but we have no choice but to speak Italian if we want to communicate. It’s cool to think about all the countries that are represented in my class- Romania, Hungaria, Greece, Austria etc. What a cultural mix!
