A trip to Pisa

To stress the “cease the day” attitude mentioned above, I decided to go to Pisa to visit Erika and some other people. Pisa is actually situated not too far away from here which is very good because it turned out to be an interesting city. Pisa is also a student city and there are lots of young people on the streets. Something funny is that almost all spray painting on the houses and walls have a political message. Passing by ordinary buildings you can read stuff like “anarchy everyone” or “free the Sardinian prisoners”. Italians usually spray paint other things like ”Julia I love you” but in Pisa prevails the interest in politics or maybe rather the feeling of dissatisfaction.. Another cool things was that when we were in a shop on the main street they put on September’s “Satellites” (do all you Uppsala people remember how we used to shake our little booties to this song?!) and I immediately started thinking of all the crazy technology students and last year’s “going fishing” dance! Then of course we had to do some shopping – have you ever heard of a 75 % sale? Me neither, before going to Pisa! Talk about crazy stuff when really beautiful dresses are sold for 20 euros instead of 80 – I managed to get myself together though and not spending all this month’s money although it would have been way too easy. Then we passed by the “Campo dei Miracoli” to check out the tower and in a very weak moment it was just impossible not to have the classical tourist picture. It’s quite tacky, isn’t it? But that’s the great thing about Italy-no one cares if you act weird cause there is always someone else acting even weirder! However, it is also important to add that Erika’s boyfriend turned out to be a very good cook and that it was very nice meeting him and all her other friends!
