Strolling downtown

Today Viktoria and I went strolling downtown. The city of Siena may appear to be small but it takes time to learn how to find your way around. About 60 000 people live in Siena but right now the city is totally invaded by German, British and American tourists raising the number of people. Today only we’ve heard talking lot’s of these different European languages but also some Asian languages. Surprisingly we’ve also seen many Italian tourists and that should prove that this city is worth a visit! There is a really fancy coffee shop here called Nannini after the Italian singer Gianna Nannini who was born in Siena. That’s a good place if you want to sip a really well tasty cup of cappuccino. Viktoria and I have already found a “favourite” coffee shop though and it’s situated close to our place. There you can also have the most fantastic coffee for only 1 euro! That’s really cheap compared to back home! Lot’s of stuff seem to be affordable such as ice-cream, cookies, coffee, magazines, shampoo etc. But when it comes to clothes it’s totally the opposite! Buying clothes in Italy is somewhat of a joke. The prices are crazy and my teacher says that in order to buy something cheaper you need to go outside of the city since all the shops inside of the city walls are “troppo chic” and “di moda”. Moreover as you can tell from the picture the Italian ice cream is like a dream! Of course we couldn’t resist this temptation and bought some chocolate and forest fruit ice cream – can I say that it was “buonissimo”?!!

Hola Amiga!
