Siena-Fiorentina 1-1

So then it was time for the big match – Siena played Fiorentina in “serie A” and we had all been looking forward to it. It’s really amusing watching all the passionate Italians going crazy for the most beloved sport in this country namely football. And football it was! Although sometimes it reminded more of rugby! There was lots of crawling and falling to the ground just in general among the football players so we knew for sure that we were watching Italian football! The audience was just going crazy and set of some fireworks, lighted some colour bombs that filled the air with purple smoke (Fiorentina fans of course!) and when all the Siena fans started to sing ”everyone who doesn’t jump is a fiorentino” we decided to join the crowd and jumped like maniacs! That’s one of the nicest songs though but let’s not talk about the other ones! The atmosphere was indescribable and I think that I’ve never been to a place were people have been so enthusiastic! This experience is very difficult to talk about because one almost have to have been there to understand how important football is to the Italian fans and how much they enjoy watching it.
