An amazing meeting

Yesterday something really amazing happened as I was heading towards the library downtown. It was pretty early in the afternoon and the streets are usually crowded by that time of people out on their lunch break. As I was walking I suddenly noticed that on the street there was only me and another girl that seemed really familiar somehow. Her long blond hair reminded me of someone belonging to the past and then I finally realized that she was one of the girls that I used to hang out with when living in Florence six years ago! It was unbelievable meeting her on the street like that! And she looked just the same a she did before, six years ago. This girl was actually one of my favourites in our little “gang” so it was a very exciting meeting. She told me that she has got a job as a tourist guide and that she was in Siena for the day to work when we bumped into each other! The world is really small indeed! I hope for all of you to experience that some day as well because it was a truly joyful moment. A moment full of gratitude as well to God that had let me see her again. It’s amazing to think that something like that can happen on an ordinary Tuesday afternoon in November…
