A trip to Montalcino

Today I went with a friend to a small town situated south-east of Siena which is called Montalcino. It is a beautiful and very picturesque little village and the road to get there is an amazing one. It’s absolutely true what people say about the landscape of Tuscany, it is really something special although it’s also artificial. The landscape is artificial in that many woods have been replaced with artificial wine yards since the mud is good for growing wine ranks. So nowadays the nature close to Montalcino is an orgy of wine yards, cypresses and small woods that grow among the many hills and valleys of Tuscany. Montalcino is also situated in the heart of the wine district that produce the "Brunello" red wine which is one of Italy's finest ones. Obviously you can try this wine in the fortress of the city but we actually didn't although it might have been cool. Indeed, it was a very fun little “road trip” but it was also an extremely relaxing and satisfying day. Hopefully there will be more road trips like this one.
